Overview & First Impressions

Just an hour away from the popular town of Puerto Vallarta, is the exclusive gated community known as Punta Mita which is home to several luxury resorts, including the world renowned Four Seasons Resort. This absolutely breathtaking beachfront property makes for the perfect escape from reality to paradise! Here we were pampered with warm hospitality, endless views of the dazzling aquamarine waters, pristine beaches, and unique fine dining experiences from tropical to beachfront setting!

Upon arrival we were greeted with a refreshing tequila infused hibiscus drink almost too pretty to drink! When we took our first glimpse from the lobby of the swaying palm trees and ocean off in the distance, we knew we were somewhere truly special with lots of excitement ahead!

Accommodation:

We were whisked away in a scenic golf cart ride to this gorgeous plunge pool suite with tropical and ocean views, was this really our home for the next 4 days!?! From the moment we walked in, we were absolutely blown away by the custom amenities to welcome us, starting with a margarita making station along with fresh chips & guacamole in the living room!

As soon as we arrived, we didn’t waste a minute getting into this shaded and cool private plunge pool, what a great way to cool off after a long day of travelling!

The first thing I did each morning was wake up to this stunning outdoor terrace which reminded me we were really truly in paradise! Off in the distance past the tall palm trees, I could see the adorable tiki huts by the pool and glistening ocean waters! I want to take a moment to point out how absolutely comfortable these stylish teal wicker chairs are, needless to say I spent quite a bit of time just lounging and admiring the tropical surrounding!

Restaurants & Dining:

Every meal we had was truly exquisite and outstanding with world class service, I highly recommend trying each of the restaurants to fully indulge in the unique culinary experiences here inspired by local and international flavors! Here are some of my favorites out of the 10 restaurant, bar, & lounge options!

Dos Catrinas

You can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner here! Our mornings started with an a la carte breakfast featuring authentic Mexican fare with a contemporary twist! Something really unique is that you can make your own smoothie or drink by choosing the fruits and garnishes you want to mix and match, the possibilities are endless! As you can see, we almost ordered the entire menu because everything was simply so delicious.

Bahia by Richard Sandoval

This is your quintessential beach front restaurant in a pretty much perfect setting where you can hear the ocean waves and even have your toes in the sand for a romantic dinner with tiki torches! The cuisine here features the fresh catch of the day, which by the way you can pick your fish and how you like it prepared after you watch the fisherman bring the fresh fish in the morning! It’s such a special and fun way to learn about the variety of fishes and the many ways it can be prepared directly from the chef himself who is there to answer any of your questions and tailor your dish to your taste! We decided to go with sushi to enjoy our parrot and mahi mahi fish, it was absolutely divine!

Aramara

This was probably my favorite night of dining, because I am a big fan of Asian food! The chefs here draw in flavors from Hong Kong, Thailand, & other countries using only the freshest local ingredients to allow you to sample their take on some of the best dishes from Asia! This was our highlight meal of the trip and as a bonus the restaurant looks over the lush tropical grounds of the resort and ocean, which truly made for a perfect evening after a fun filled day!

The Shack

This ocean front rum bar is great for an evening or late night cocktail as you look over the ocean for the sun to set. There are so many fun and comfortable casual seating options and even a bonfire at night!

Amenities:

I recommend booking a week here because there is simply so much to do! From enjoying a gourmet Italian coffee in your private terrace to taking a refreshing dip in many of the pools to playing at two of the world’s most private & renowned golf courses

Pools

Who doesn’t like a chill day at the pool with a refreshing drink in hand and poolside towel service? There are 3 amazing pools to choose from with plenty of lounging area & shade, all you need is time to enjoy them all!

Nuna Infinity Pool

This is definitely the most photogenic pool nestled high above a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the resort’s secluded beach! Without a doubt, this is the absolute best spot to enjoy the breathtaking sunsets and watch the sky turn brilliantly red and orange!

Lazy River

Perfect for kids and adults alike, where you can float on a colorful tube sipping a delicious Pina Colada and let the water carry you away!

Tamai Pool

This is the adults’ only pool where you can enjoy poolside food and drinks, there is actually a couple pools to choose from here. You are surrounded by lush tropical palm trees, colorful hammocks to lay in, and the chic Tamai restaurant featuring a bright colorful menu! We loved spending our afternoon in the pool here, it was very peaceful and relaxing.

We had a private luxury cabana steps from the pool booked for us with a flat screen TV, a lounge bed, and even a swing! There are curtains you can draw for the ultimate privacy or if you just want to take an afternoon nap! Tip: I highly recommend getting the Mexican sangria, it was delicious!

Beach

You can always find us by the beach while on vacation! We absolutely loved spending our evenings taking a stroll and watching the sun go down by the ocean at this beautiful private beach surrounded by majestic cliffs on both sides! With two white sand beaches to choose form, we never felt the need to leave this beautiful property that really does have everything!

We booked a Manzanilla day bed right in front of the beach just steps away from the ocean with plenty of sunshine and panoramic views of the ocean from the comfort of our own little private oasis! There is even a bar just steps away, the wonderful staff come around and take your order so you never have to get up! I especially loved the fresh coconuts, I must have had at least two a day!

Spa

No visit to a luxury resort is complete without a visit to the spa! The Apuane spa features beautiful courtyards with water formations throughout creating a place of peace and serenity. We did the “Journey for Two” treatment where we had exclusive private use of the spa and its facilities! This was such a romantic experience that included a Copal ritual, a couples massage, use of hydrotherapy plunge pools, and champagne and fruit for a truly transformative evening!

Activities

There are so many activities to choose from, especially if you are feeling a little adventurous! We tried out the complimentary bike rentals and did a self-guided tour around Punta Mita! This was a great way to spend our last morning here as we explored the pathways long the many golf courses and eventually reached the pier at the end!

Be sure to check out their weekly activities schedule when you are there so you don’t miss out on anything! For example, you can participate in viewing the turtles hatch and assist in releasing them to the sea when it’s in season. We would definitely love to return and experience this!

Summary:

We are already dreaming of returning to Mexico and I can only think of one place to stay, the Four Seasons! Our trip to Punta Mita was absolutely perfect and the staff really elevated our stay with their attention to detail and accommodating our every request. This was truly a tropical paradise and a vacation that we will always cherish with many good laughs and memories.
