Overview

There are so many ways to discover the beauty of Costa Rica, from the rushing waterfalls to active volcanoes to the rugged rainforest hugging the coastline! With two major airports to fly into with several non-stop flights from the USA, you are never too far from experiencing everything Costa Rica has to offer! We flew into Liberia (Daniel Oduber International Airport- LIR), this is the closet airport to the stunning and luxurious gated community of Peninsula Papagayo, home to the one and only Four Seasons in Latin America! With its prime location in the northern Pacific Coast, Four Seasons Costa Rica is home to two beautiful soft white sand beaches offering endless coastal views from both sides of the peninsula. I am so excited to share our unforgettable experience during our stay at the Four Seasons Costa Rica which was the highlight of our trip with the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation!

Accommodation

Sleep in or wake up early to catch the sunrise, either way you can’t go wrong with how you start your day in paradise! Choose from guest rooms, suites, or treat yourself and your family to the spacious and modern residences offering the picture perfect views of the ocean, bay and lush jungle.

If you prefer to be close to all the action and amenities, the suites are just a stone throw away from the main pools, restaurants, and beaches. The highlight here is the private furnished terrace overlooking the tropical landscape and ocean along with the marble bathroom featuring luxury bath products.

During our stay, we switched to the Prieta Bay plunge pool villa and we absolutely did not feel the need to leave our villa! This 4 bedroom retreat is equipped with a full kitchen, outdoor BBQ station, and massive glass sliding doors in the living room creating a seamless indoor outdoor space that opens up to the million dollar view that we all travel here to witness! Needless to say, much of our time was spent with a glass of champagne at the edge of the plunge pool just soaking in the calmness and beauty of the nature around us while in the comfort of our hillside retreat. You will definitely feel like inviting your friends and family here to throw a party!

Dining

Wow, where do I begin to describe the culinary journey we embarked on during our stay at the Four Seasons Costa Rica! I suppose I will start with our favorite meal of the day, the unbelievable poolside breakfast with a view at Bahia all-day restaurant! We looked forward to trying something new each morning, from the freshly squeezed juices to the delicious French toast. Yes, our breakfast setup really did look this extravagant every morning thanks to the amazing staff!

You absolutely cannot miss a dinner experience at Nemare, an elegant steakhouse that will elevate any evening! With just a short text message or phone call, a golf cart is available to take you anywhere along the property! Getting to this restaurant is a short scenic journey and where our excitement for the night of culinary experience began!

One of our favorite place to lounge during the day was at these hanging day beds surrounded by a poolside tropical setting on one side and the Aneja Crudas and Tapas bar on the other! We were in pure bliss just listening to the sound of the gentle rain during the brief afternoon showers while enjoying a perfectly crafted fresh sushi roll!

Beaches

There are two pristine beaches, one with a view of the Blanca Bay perfect for early sunrise walks and the other quieter beach with sweeping ocean views and turquoise water-this is definitely the place to be during sunset!

There is a saying here, Pura Vida, live the simple and pure life! That is exactly what we felt being surrounded by tall swaying palm trees and walking on the soft white sand as we embraced every moment! We especially loved just relaxing in our beach front cabana with non-stop drink and food service, it doesn’t get better than this! We always felt well looked after by the attentive staff who truly elevated our stay here!

Pools

Take a refreshing dip in one of three family friendly or adult pools surrounded by the lush tropical landscape, they are all centrally located and a short walk to the restaurants! If you prefer to just lounge and soak in the Costa Rican sun, there is plenty of shaded seating with world class service that Four Seasons is known for! We didn’t leave the resort even once during our 4 days here, it really is the ultimate coastal retreat!

My personal favorite was the Jacuzzi where we got to unwind after a long day and relax in a jungle like setting that reflects the beautiful landscape of Costa Rica!

Activities

One of the great included benefits of staying at the Four Seasons in Costa Rica is the over 25 complimentary activities around the resort that are bound to keep even the restless entertained! If you seek adventure, why not try out the kayaking or snorkeling tour? Or discover one of my favorite-the premium rum tasting experience that will please just about any palette! During this class, we got to sample several different types of rum and then infuse them with garnishes of our liking to create some very unique flavors!

I highly recommend exploring the beautiful area in your own golf cart during the guided Trail of the Giants golf course tour! The views are unbelievable and you will have a chance to stop and capture some very photo-worthy moments!

Summary

We loved everything about our stay at Four Seasons Costa Rica, the staff’s attention to detail and kindness undoubtedly made our stay absolutely unforgettable that we are already dreaming of returning the next chance we get! We had been to Costa Rica before, but were absolutely blown away by the beauty and luxury of Peninsula Papagayo, we felt like we were a world away! This region feels like a best kept secret and the location of Four Seasons could not be any better with the perfect blend of ocean meets jungle! Our anticipation leading up to the trip was well met with what could only be described as arriving at serene paradise!
