Four Seasons Resorts have stunning luxury properties all over the world, including a few select Caribbean islands. This was our first time to Anguilla and I can say with confidence that it will not be our last as one of the leading luxury resorts to experience on the island! The journey to Anguilla after landing in St.Maarten was an exciting 20 minute scenic sea shuttle, alternatively you can also choose to fly directly into Anguilla from Puerto Rico, St Maarten, or American Airlines new direct route from Miami! Throughout the stay we felt absolutely well taken care of whether on the beach, the pool, or the restaurants. The luxury amenities coupled with world class service absolutely elevated our experience! I am so excited to share the highlights of our dreamy island getaway in Anguilla!
You know it’s a large resort when there are golf carts readily available to drive you around the property! We stayed in a romantic and very spacious ocean view one bedroom suite featuring a private outdoor heated plunge pool and a separate living room. We spent many evenings watching the sunset with a glass of champagne right from the comfort of our balcony! Oh and if you have read any of my previous reviews on Four Seasons properties, you know how much I rave about the plush bedding that can only be further described as “cloud-like”.
We got to spend one of the mornings in a 5 bedroom oceanfront villa with a private pool set by the quiet Barnes Bay Beach. These are perfect for large groups of families or friends with the seamless indoor-outdoor space combined with endless views of the aquamarine sea from the outdoor deck! This truly is a home away from home!
During our stay in the winter of 2021, there were only two restaurants open for dine in-The Sunset Lounge and Salt Restaurant.
The Sunset Lounge is open all day starting from lunch and features live music and other entertainment during the evenings, this was definitely where we spent most of the nights winding down! The energy and atmosphere is very eclectic and chic overlooking Barnes Bay Beach! We especially loved the sunset poolside Kombucha drink and small plates such as sushi and Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice), all carefully curated with bold Asian flavors.
Breakfast was always with a view at the cliff side Salt Restaurant overlooking the beautiful turquoise waves crashing against the rocks below. You can choose from a buffet breakfast or the equally delicious a la carte menu, I guarantee you will have something new to try every day!
The spa at Four Seasons Anguilla is one of the most impressive I have seen with an infinity pool overlooking the deep blue sea and my personal favorite-the hanging day bed which is perfect for a post massage nap! Be sure to book a treatment here so you can experience all the spa amenities, we spent half the day here and still didn’t want to leave!
Beaches & Activities
They say Anguilla has some of the MOST stunning beaches in the world and it’s not until you see it that you realize just how secluded and raw the beauty is! One of the main reasons we chose Four Seasons is because it sits right between two long stretches of white soft sand beaches-Meads Bay and Barnes Bay. There are plenty of lounge chairs and the best part is that it never felt crowded! I especially loved having dining options (Half Shell Beach Bar & Bamboo Bar and Grill) just steps away to grab a refreshing drink or afternoon pizza after all the swimming and endless amount of photos!
On our last morning we decided to get adventures with a surf board, the waves were definitely a bit wilder than we hoped as beginners but it was absolutely fun nonetheless! There are plenty of other complimentary beach activities to try out like the Hobie Cat which is a great way to get out on the sea and see the stunning coastline lined with hotels and restaurants while gently sailing with the island breeze!
You can find me all day at the adults only Sunset Infinity Edge pool perched high above the cliffs with sweeping views of the mesmerizing bay. The poolside service was absolutely top notch, I definitely recommend coming early to reserve your seat for the sunset because it’s the place to be at sun down! Be sure to grab a glass of champagne from the floating bar, views like this are meant to be enjoyed with a drink in hand!
The Aleta pool is another great spot to spend the afternoons lounging with occasional dips in this glistening aquamarine water! For ultimate privacy, you can book the luxurious furnished poolside cabanas with nonstop drink service! Tall swaying palm trees and the ocean off in the distance, doesn’t this pool just look so incredibly inviting?
The family and kid friendly pool on Meads Bay side of the property is the Bamboo pool, right next to the Bamboo Bar & Grill and with easy quick access to the sandy shores. The location embodies everything you would expect from a lush yet open tropical island paradise.
In all honesty, I was looking up dates for our return trip while we were still leaving the property, I hope that tells you just how much we loved our stay at Four Seasons Anguilla! We have stayed at several Four Seasons properties and keep returning for the world class service and luxury amenities that defines this brand all over the world. If you are looking to pamper yourself with a beach getaway in an island that still feels unspoiled and raw, Anguilla has the perfect mix of luxury accommodations, scenic landscape, and plenty of water activities! We can’t wait to return and explore more of the coves and beaches around the island, but this time we enjoyed just relaxing and fully experiencing the gorgeous Four Seasons resort!
