Overview:

We arrived in beautiful Scottsdale to so many palm trees set amongst the beautiful desert hills and rock formations, including one that resembles a camel’s back! At this point, I was very excited to reach our home away from home for the next two nights, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch! This place is so Instagram worthy with its gorgeous tropical plants, lakes, and a championship golf course! As a perfect weekend getaway, there is so much to explore around the property or just have a relaxing vacation in the desert! What better place to indulge in than this luxury family friendly destination resort? The weather was hot during the day and cool at nights which was perfect to spend the days swimming and evenings by the live entertainment!

Location & Getting There:

Our journey started in Dallas, Texas and was a speedy 2.5 hour journey to Phoenix, Arizona. From there, we took a scenic 25 min Uber ride to arrive at the property located in the charming town of Scottsdale!  If you are lucky enough to live in Arizona, this is also a perfect staycation! Scottsdale may be home to several posh resorts and spas, but Hyatt Regency stands apart with its unique mix of modern and Old West design!

The Hotel Room:

We stayed in a spacious room featuring a very comfortable king bed and balcony with plenty of space to lounge and take in the views of the mountain and lively pool scene! Every morning, we loved waking up to the sunrise over the tall palm trees! One of my favorite parts was our special welcome where we were treated to a delicious cheeseboard and margaritas in our room, what a perfect way to start off the vacation!

The Regency Club:

Guests have the option to upgrade any room with the Regency Club access, which I highly recommend! This gives you access to a hot breakfast buffet and snacks throughout the day to munch on! You also get special prices on drinks so you can really enjoy to the fullest without breaking the wallet! Another perk of this club is that you get unlimited access to some of the SPA facilities, such as the saunas and their special mineral pool!

Restaurants & Dining:

Get ready for your taste buds to go on a culinary journey!  They have so many eclectic restaurants and bars spread across the property that you are never too far from a refreshing cocktail or a delicious meal! One night we sat around the romantically lit terrace with a fire pit for dinner at the Alto Ristorante & Bar, where we tried fresh and flavorful Italian dishes!  One of our evenings, we had the opportunity to indulge in the “Wine Me, Dine Me” experience at SWB which features authentic southwestern cuisine! You will never leave hungry after this 4 course meal paired with several rounds of wine and tequila! It’s a personal 1 on 1 experience with the chefs who explain each of their dishes prior to serving you and you sit at the kitchen bar so you can watch them in action! Be sure to reserve in advance to save your spots!

Amenities:

Wow, where do I start? There is simply so much to do here for a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation! One of the main attractions at the resort is of course their many pools featuring a tall water slide, sandy beach with 2.5 acre playground, and a separate adult pool with Jacuzzi. You can even have drinks and food delivered poolside with the backdrop of the majestic mountains and lake, it’s impossible not to have a good time here!

Even if you don’t stay at the property, Spa Avania is not to be missed! This has got to be the most unique and biggest spa I’ve ever come across! I had a day to pamper myself with a much needed 60 minute Swedish massage and a Himalayan Salt Room treatment! Wondering what that is? Well, salt therapy provides relief from respiratory and skin conditions (if you suffer from mild eczema like me, this is perfect for you!) I also came across this beautiful and very unique pool inside the spa that is completely mineral based, another plus for healthy skin! When was the last time you indulged in a blissful treatment?

Experiences:

There is always something going on at Hyatt Scottsdale that you will never run out of things to see and do at the comfort of your hotel! For example, there is nightly live music at the indoor-outdoor Center Stage Bar where you are surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and fireplaces to crowd around with your family and friends! We loved grabbing some drinks and kicking back to listen to some soulful tunes by the local bands! If you have little kiddos, they will love the weekly cultural performances showcasing Native American tribal dancing!  There is really something for everyone at all times of the day to make this an exciting and memorable stay!

Hyatt brings Venice to Arizona with a romantic gondola ride around the lake at the property, what a unique way to make your evening memorable with someone special! Your ride is complimentary if you show your receipt from your dinner at Alto Ristorante & Bar.
