Overview
Located on the south shore of Maui known as Wailea, Andaz Maui Resort is the ultimate tropical getaway and everything you would expect from a luxurious island oasis. This is a very modern and sleek property just a short ride from the airport and close to many dining, shopping, and scenic attractions. Maui has a laid back vibe and moves at a slower pace, especially when compared to some of its neighboring larger islands. It’s famous worldwide for its gorgeous beaches, luxury beachfront resorts, migrating humpback whales, and its exotic lush tropical landscape! Seeking the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, we decided to start off 2022 pampering ourselves in the spirit of Aloha with a glamourous stay at the Andaz Maui. I am so thrilled to be reflecting back on our memories here to share our experience at this world class resort that I am already dreaming of returning to!

Accommodation
Wake up to the sound of the gentle ocean waves and views of the swaying island palm trees, this is what paradise feels like when staying at the Andaz Maui rooms, suites, or beachfront villas. No matter what you pick as your home away from home, you are guaranteed beautiful island views from your private lanai (outdoor porch). We had the pleasure of staying in the ultra-luxe and spacious 3 bedroom ocean view villa featuring a gourmet kitchen open to the living room and an expansive outdoor patio with just the right breeze for escaping the afternoon heat!

Dining
This might just be my favorite part of our stay, the delectable Polynesian cuisine served by the cheery and attentive staff truly elevated our experience! There are so many onsite dining options to choose from, whether you are looking for a casual poolside meal or a formal romantic dinner with the view of the island waters off in the distance.
We started every morning at the ka’ana Kitchen with one of the largest variety breakfast buffets I have ever seen, you really need a couple days to truly taste and savor it all! And if that’s not enough, the staff and chef go above and beyond to satisfy custom orders, just ask for whatever your foodie heart desires!

After watching the beautiful sunset right from the Andaz Maui beachfront lawn, we walked over to the Ka’ana Kitchen once more, but this time for dinner! We were in for a treat as we sampled some of the best farm to table Asian fusion cuisine the island has to offer!
Of course you can’t come to Hawaii and not indulge in some delicious fresh Hawaiian poke! The poolside Lehua Lounge is perfect for a refreshing after swim bite and drinks, and to our surprise this spot transforms at night under the starry sky with live music and fireside sunset cocktails.

Amenities
How do you spend 4 days in paradise when you don’t want to leave your luxury resort? Well, I have some suggestions for you!
While the daily resort fee may feel a bit pricey, it includes so many land, water, and cultural activities for adults & kids! We especially loved waking up early to watch whales and dolphins during the daily outrigger canoe excursions, we were lucky enough to spot so many of them close to our canoe each morning!
Some of the other complimentary activities include beachfront yoga and pilates classes, stand up paddle board lessons, use of snorkel equipment, GoPro rental, and many more!
Afternoons are meant for soaking up the sun while comfortably lounging in your private cabana by the very unique four-tiered cascading infinity pools overlooking the ocean.

The Mokapu beach is right in front of the property, my favorite way to experience this sandy beach with the epic west Maui mountain backdrop was going on a romantic and peaceful sunrise walk along the shore!

Hawaiian Luau
We have visited Maui and the surrounding islands before, but this was the first time we felt like we truly experienced the full Polynesian culture! We ended our last evening being a part of one of the most popular Hawaiian social gatherings known as The Feast of Mokapu Lu’au, which celebrates Hawaiian culture and traditions. It’s conveniently located right on the Andaz lawn with the ocean and sunset as the epic backdrop!

Summary
Our stay at the Andaz in Maui absolutely exceeded our expectations from the attention to detail at every corner to its breathtaking location nestled between the deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. We loved that it was easily accessible to many attractions nearby, and if you don’t have a car, the complimentary hotel van service will drop you where you need to go within the area! Its perks like this that truly make you feel well taken care of and stress free, after all that’s what a vacation should be!
